Leaf rust caused by Puccinia triticina Eriks. is the most prevalent wheat worldwide and occurs annually wherever grown. The economical environmentally friendly method to control this fungal disease genetic resistance, which achieved through deploying effective resistance genes. Tightly-linked molecular markers facilitate gene tagging their deployment with other genes, in turn contribute durable leaf resistance. Lr36 derived from Aegilops speltoides Taush introgressed into hexaploid backcrossing, located on chromosome 6BS. Despite detection of low frequencies virulence for gene, no tightly-linked marker available breeding. Therefore, research aimed at analysis simple sequence repeats (SSR) linked 171 individuals an F2 population a cross between Lr36-carrying line (ER84018) susceptible cultivar; Boolani. Of 36 primer pairs 6BS tested polymorphism parents resistant bulks, eight were polymorphic Xgwm88 Xcfd13 flanked 3.8 5.2 cM, respectively. identified validated 35 genotypes different backgrounds including few Australian differential sets, Iranian landraces cultivars, several cultivars and/or breeding lines Switzerland Afghanistan, confirmed that they can be used selection programs.
